This film festival has become well known in its own right at national level, both due to the fact that all proceeds go to charity, and also to the peculiar San Pancracios Prize-giving Ceremony, which marks the end of an event not to be missed by cinema lovers.CINEMA
Film: "A boyfriend for Yasmina"
The first film by Cáceres director Irene Cardona, which humorously portrays the effects of immigration on a rural community, won two Biznagas de Plata (Silver Carrots) at the Málaga Film Festival. Cardona was also nominated for a Goya Award as most promising director. Contempopránea Festival. Alburquerque
Extremadura hosts the present and future of the best indie pop in Spain every year, converting Alburquerque in the centre of this type of music and a platform to launch the riskiest proposals on the independent contemporary pop music scene. It is a large event that is attended by more than 8,000 people and is recognised by expert critics as the best of its kind. Contempopránea and Extremadura provide a festival made in and from Extremadura, but which converts the region into a reference point at both national and international level.MUSIC

Tour of the Orchestra of Extremadura. China
The Orchestra of Extremadura promoted the image of the region on their tour around the People’s Republic of China. Directed by Jesús Amigo, the Orchestra of Extremadura played eight pieces of music including Tchaikovsky’s violin concerto, with solo violinist Alexandre da Costa, and Bei Ping Xi Xun Dao Bian Zhai (Good night from Beijing) by Chinese composers Zheng Lu and Ma Hongye, which was prepared especially for this tour.MUSIC
COCEMFE "We will dream together" song
Marca Extremadura has collaborated on the project of the Federation of Associations of People with Physical and Organic (Cocemfe) from Badajoz under the slogan 'We will dream together', whose centerpiece is a composition that aims to become the song of disability and be a singing to the integration and standardization of these people.

The Extremadura Trademark was present in the International Summer Courses at the University of Extremadura, designed to be a forum of knowledge in which university students, professionals and interested parties in general participate, discuss and reflect in order to exchange ideas towards enhancing intellectual richness. 3rd National Congress of New Journalism. Cáceres
Extremadura became a centre for debate in which 500 people from a dozen different countries and 50 experts analysed the new challenges faced by communication networks and their role as a link between cultures. XVI National Congress of Hospitals. Caceres
This event supported by Marca Extremadura, highlighted by the exciting scientific and cultural program for the novelty of some of its formats and generated great social impact. Minister for Health and counselors in most autonomous regions participated in the Congress and chosen this framework to discuss the Pact for Health. It also had over 1,500 attendees, representing all the Autonomous Communities of the Spanish National Health System and neighboring Portugal and elsewhere.COURSES/SEMINARS
Extremadura Briefings Breakfast. Mérida
Marca Extremadura has fostered the creation of an information platform, which is called Breakfast Briefings Extremadura, in order to enhance the relations between Spain and Portugal and vehicular cross-border cooperation. The first edition of these breakfasts was held at the Palacio de Congresos y Exposiciones de Mérida in which more than 250 businessmen and representatives of associations concerned with the regional economy and institutions in Extremadura and Portugal. He had the president of the Junta de Extremadura, Guillermo Fernández Vara, as guest speaker.

I Iberoamerican Free Software Congress
I Iberoamerican Congress of Free Software Technological University of Panama and Consorcio Tecnología Social Libre de Extremadura, with support from Marca Extremadura, jointly developed the celebration of the Primer Congreso Iberoamericano de Conocimiento Libre, held from 23 to 25 September in Panama under the theme "Building a Knowledge Society with Free Software. The main purpose of this meeting was to pull together different sectors: business, academia and government to exchange experiences and establish links to assess the construction of the Knowledge Society based on Free Software.

Portuguese Complete Course Project
This project offered through the regional daily "HOY", a total of seven journals serials that have been distributed weekly to learn various levels of Portuguese and their use in everyday situations. The project comes to the great demand in the region by learning Portuguese, and which concentrates 70% of the students of this language in Spain. Our proximity to the neighboring country makes the Portuguese is a language for easy learning and allows us to implement the lessons learned through publications of the course.

Exhibition "Ángeles y Maestros" by Extremadura artist Miguel Sansón. New York
Extremadura designer and sculptor Miguel Sansón became an ambassador for Extremadura, promoting the image of our region through his collection entitled "Ángeles y maestros", which was exhibited in the Gelabert Gallery in New York.SCIENCE
Extremadura research on perma-frozen ground. Antarctic
Research carried out by University of Extremadura professors in the Antarctic. The aim is to study the thermal evolution of perma-frozen ground and how energy is exchanged with the atmosphere. This study is of great interest, mainly due to the implications it has for the development of countries that have a large surface area of this type of ground. Furthermore, studies on the evolution of perma-frozen ground have for years suggested there is possibly a relationship between their thermal evolution and climate change.SCIENCE
Jesús Usón Centre for Minimum Invasion Surgery. Cáceres
Located in the city of Cáceres, the CMIS is an international reference point, devoted to research and professional training in surgical techniques of minimum invasion. José Manuel Calderón Training Camp. Cáceres
More than 300 young people meet in Cáceres every year with one of the most international ambassadors of Extremadura at a national basketball training camp aimed at fostering sporting values and enabling those who attend to share their experiences with the NBA player from Extremadura and other outstanding trainers. This project seeks to bring professional sport closer to young people and to make the best league in the world and the values of teamwork, surpassing limits and self discipline more accessible to fans.SPORT
Pre-Olympic Tournament for the Spanish National Basketball Team. Cáceres, Badajoz
Extremadura hosted the first matches in preparation for the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008 and supported the Spanish National team on its way to this important sporting event. These matches, where the image of Extremadura was present, were broadcast by national television.SPORT
International Women·s Tennis Tournament. EXTREMADURA 08. Badajoz
The image of Extremadura was one of the main features of this international women’s tennis tournament, included in the calendar of the Spanish Tennis Federation, the International Tennis Federation and part of the professional WTA Tour. Around 200 players from all over the globe, some with WTA rankings took part in the women’s singles tournament.GATHERINGS
International Motorcycle Gathering. Cáceres
ore than 1,000 custom bikes and 4,500 people from all over Europe attended this event. A host of social and cultural activities enabled participants to enjoy the beauty of the streets and places in this city which is Heritage of Humanity, as well as to delve deeper into the culture of Extremadura.
