Marca Extremadura promotes three short films Spanish presence in the Sundance Film Festival
22/01/2010
The Freak Audiovisual Agency, with support from Marca Extremadura and the cooperation of the Gabinete de Iniciativa Joven, is the distributor of the three Spanish titles that compete in this year's Sundance Film Festival created by Robert Redford in 1983. 'How I met your father', by Alex Montoya, 'My invisible friend', Paul Larcuen and 'Notes on the other', Sergio Oksman are the only national short films selected this year among more than 2,500 received worldwide.
Furthermore, we must emphasize that the Agency Freak Audio-visual, Extremadura company pioneered the distribution of short films, will be the first company in its sector in Spain to participate in this independent film contest. With its presence at Sundance, this agency works in order to spread internationally the image of Extremadura and the ability of their firms to innovate and develop competitive projects, as it has been honored with four awards in recent years, the Prize PERSPECTIVES granting Unpublished Film Festival of Merida or Eurowards Award in 2001 recognizing the pioneering nature of the project.
'How I met your father' is a short film directed by Alex Montoya tells us, in a tone of comedy, the story that exists after a couple. The play, produced by Morituri, has already made more than 30 awards in national festivals. For his part, 'My invisible friend', tells the story of Thomas, a painfully shy boy who, with the arrival of his invisible friend, begins to discover what would improve your life if you learn to communicate. Both compete in the international section of short fiction films (international dramatic shorts).
Sergio Oksman compete in the international section of short documentaries (international documentary shorts) with his disturbing work 'Notes on the other' that reflects on the need for another through the figure of Hemingway.
