Roaring success of the IV José Manuel Calderón Camp

05/07/2010

Cáceres, July 5th 2010 – More than 330 youngsters from all over Spain returned home yesterday with a smile on their face after the closing session of the IV Calderón Camp which took place in Cáceres from June 26th to July 3rd. The event was a huge success and José Manuel Calderón as well as all the participants agreed on the fact that the development of the activities was excellent and even exceed the previous editions which had already been a triumph.

With the help of the Spanish Basketball Federation his year’s edition counted on the presence of a group of some of the best basketball players born in Spain in 1994 and 1995 who had to opportunity to practise with the Cleveland Cavaliers’ player Anthony Parker and the legendary shooting coach Dave Hopla.

José Manuel spent the camp’s last days intensely. On Friday, 3rd he visited the remaining teams which he had yet to watch playing live (he managed to spend some time with all the groups throughout the week so that all the participants had the opportunity to play at least once with him) and participated in the finals of all the contests.

He also played the “All Star”, a match between the best teenage players and the instructors of the camp, and afterwards he answered amusedly the questions in the by now traditional event “I have a question for Calderón”.

In the morning of the closing day he personally handed souvenirs to all the Camp’s participants and invited them to return for the fifth edition next year.
